Add WireGuard to the Kernel - for Docker support

Post by Nunnsby » Sat Jun 13, 2020 8:49 pm

I would like to install docker images running WireGuard, but without Kernel support they won't work. Can you please add the WireGuard Module to the Kernel. I appreciate that whilst it is not yet final build, it is part of the linux 5.6 kernel now. Many linux distros and VPN providers are already offering it as the performance benefits over IPSec/OpenVPN/the rest are proven to be incredibly fast.

1) Allows you to offer WireGuard natively as a VPN solution (alternative to L2TP/IPsec, PPTP or OpenVPN services)
2) Allows people to install Docker images with WireGuard as well

Thanks for a great product in QNAP. :)

I don’t understand that not more people have replied here.
This is something I really miss when using dockers or even LXC.
So here another one who would love to have this.

Qnap is still using an old kernel.

Because QNAP does not come here, posting or replying will do nothing to help or expedite it

Support Tickets need to be opened to reach out to QNAP

Wireguard would be great, but I'd settle for a current and non-crippled kernel first. :p
