Schumaku do you need Media Streaming add on in order for Airplay to work with Kodi?
No matter what I try I just can't get Airplay for my Kodi to show up on my iOS devices. It's all enabled in Kodi and i've cheacked avahi deamon is running which it is.
Only thing I can think preventing me is not having the media streaming add on.

Re: QNAP Airplay Client/Endpoint
That's the other way round - with AirPlay on the NAS resp. on HD Station / Kodi. Don't think it's required for this purpose at all.GTunney wrote:Schumaku do you need Media Streaming add on in order for Airplay to work with Kodi?
Last time I looked into it, the Kodi builds were highly inconsistent (model dependent) - and I've never had success with this part. This would be a dedicated Avahi incarnation operating under the rooted HD station.GTunney wrote:No matter what I try I just can't get Airplay for my Kodi to show up on my iOS devices. Ah ok no probs, I mis-read what you posted. I thought you'd managed to get this working on a TS-451 with Kodi.

"...should allow..." == things were very unreliable in my tests.

Re: QNAP Airplay Client/Endpoint
Hello all,
I am also having a problem while trying to stream my photo/video from my iPhone to my QNAP NAS (with HDMI output).
For that, I would like to use Kodi or Plex or HD Player.
None of them are working with AirPlay : when I try to activate the AirPlay option in the settings menu, I have the following error message :
"Can not start AirPlay".
Does AirPlay require a specific library/module in QTS to be enabled ?
Do I have to activate a specific option in QTS to enable Apps to use AirPlay ?
Thank you in advance,
JC
