IFTTT integration
Since the NAS can accomplish very well some domotic duty it became useful to let him talk to other domotic appliances, and the common denominator is IFTTT which is already connected to hundreds of third party domotic appliances.
Events on QNAP can trigger IFTTT (warning, alerts, disk status, disk capacity, intrusions, power loss, etc) and furthermore QNAP become the target of IFTTT actions (start a backup, put it to sleep mode, start/stop a service, etc)
For example, in my particular needs, i would like that on detecting a power loss a philips hue batterly light is turned on. But having IFTTT support can open to a lot of interactions
What do you think about?

Re: IFTTT integration
This would be a great feature,
imagine if SS PRO could send and receive IFTTT commands?

Hi all. New to Qnap; my first unit arrives in a couple of days. Just noticed this page mentioning IFTTT integration from Qnap, so perhaps it is on its way soon...

Hi Kurt,
any additional news on that?
By any chance, do you know if there are some available recipes already?

I've just got a google home too. Would be great to link them together - "Hey google, please play plex film xxxx from QNAP to my living room TV" etc etc

Found this:

Has the service been launched? I can't find QNAP in the IFTTT service listings.

Posted a while ago; he is a Qnap product manager, so I guess it's still in Alpha/Beta testing. Good spot though!

Re: IFTTT integration
A buddy of mine is looking to purchase a NAS and had asked if my TS-453A would integrate with IFTTT today. I stumbled upon these links but the IFTTT agent doesn't appear to exist in AppCenter as of yet.

Re: IFTTT integration
Triggers and actions seem pretty limited for the time being:
Triggers
New file in your folder
New system event
Actions
Download file from URL
Append text to file
Set user profile picture on QNAP NAS
