Install Anivirus softtware+malware (most popular AV software does malware scanning like ZoneAlarm, or even Microsoft Security Essentials) on a machine, mount the share, and scan away..
Perhaps the other way would be to just use Mcafee app on Nas... (paid of course)

I don't think you understand the problem. This malware is running on the NAS, not on a client device.TECH1982 wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 2:42 pm Install Anivirus softtware+malware (most popular AV software does malware scanning like ZoneAlarm, or even Microsoft Security Essentials) on a machine, mount the share, and scan away..

Re: Malware Remover - detailed information on the scanning result
Understandable confusion because Malware remover is the only app when you search App Store..
When i'm saying is the workaround is to use Windows PC to scan for malware instead..Not what anyone here wants to here, but its still there.
At least while inconvenience, at least you get the scan results. It's not something we can't do, more like something we don't want to do. I would do that, while contacting QNAP, who will only tell you the same thing anyway.

Re: Malware Remover - detailed information on the scanning result
You cannot scan the NAS system from external..and malware infects the system, not the files
So the advice makes no sense
