Integration with Google Photos

Post by soroosh »

I need to backup my photos on NAS to my Google Photos account (not Google Drive).
Hybrid Backup Sync can sync files between NAS and Google Drive but it can't use Google Photos features but unfortunately, uploaded photos could not be moved into Google Photos.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Does your Google Photos Account setting have "Google Drive" Enabled?

https://support.google.com/photos/answe ... l=en&oco=0
See photos & videos from Google Drive in Google Photos
You’ll see all photos and videos from My Drive and Backup and Sync in your Google Photos library.

On your computer, open https://photos.google.com/settings
Turn on Google Drive.

In "Google Drive", your photos and videos are stored your Google Account's storage space. You have 15GB of free storage.
But in "Google Photos" you get unlimited photo backup at “high quality”.

...so it's not a backup, it's not the original file, quality, resolution, compression, ...

Not sure files (photos, images) added to the Google Drive -> Google Photos structure become available in Google Photos at all.

it is to an extent with some issues, but yes unlimited photos comes at a cost. would be better syning directly with your NAS to backup any photos (from phone)

https://support.google.com/photos/answe ... l=en&oco=0

another option for anyone with a phone wanting a "copy" (not a backup) on their nas is upload to google photos, then sync your Google Drive (photos folder) with your NAS.

Any progress in this? Automatic upload to google.photos.com would be great8 Now I have to do this via a link to a drive on my PC = much slower.

Can't believe you can't do this on qnap yet. I need to be able to configure a folder on my NAS to upload any photos in it to google photos (not drive).
1 way sync is fine for like how it works on phones.
I just need to know any photos I place on my NAS are backed up to google drive.

I do not want to have sync my NAS to PC and then to run google photos uploader (or similar software, whatever they call it now) on my PC. It's the whole point in having a NAS!
