SSD write caching and flushing options

Post by CommonSenseAl »

How about some options/features to control when an SSD that is used for write caching is flushed?

Maybe an option that flushes every X number of minutes or hours?

Maybe an option to flush at a certain time of day?

Maybe an option to flush when the RAID array goes idle (or virtually idle) for X minutes?

Maybe all of the above?

I simply want to make sure that data does not stay only in the cache for hours or days or weeks.

QNAP does not visit the forum except for the pre-sales area. You will need to open a ticket for them to get your suggestions.
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
