I found this post by search, and I think I'm encountering the same issue, though the OP's post is ... brief :). Here's my more verbose version.

I just got a TS-230, and still learning to use it. I tried out QSync but don't like that it litters my client system with .qsync directories, and also creates a massive directory of all files on the NAS in my home directory (under Windows, /Users/<username>/AppData/Local/QNAP/Qsync). So I decided to switch to rsync. (For Windows users, you can also use RoboCopy, which I've been using for decades. I thought I'd switch to rsync which I can also using with Linux.) I got it working, but I spent a lot of time fighting with using rsync modules. Here's what happens when I try to use a module:

Code: Select all

rsync -rtv admin@nas::Public/Projects-Linux/ Projects-Linux
rsync: [Receiver] failed to connect to nas (192.168.2.95): Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(137) [Receiver=3.2.3]
If instead I use the directory to the public folder directly, rsync works fine:

Code: Select all

rsync -rtv admin@nas:/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Public/Projects-Linux/ Projects-Linux
I second the OP's request for module support.
TS-230, TS-253A, both with latest stable QTS

Too many “:” in first attempt

Also you need to specify the path from the default directory for the admin account.

Why not use the built in Hybrid backup GUI interface?
