Re: Decrypt encrypted discs with qnap app
Welcome to the QNAP NAS Community Forum!
Not clear if I understand this correct: You like to see the ability to unlock QNAP encrypted disk volume(s) for example by the Qmanager App if connected over SSL (https)?
-Kurt.

Re: Decrypt encrypted discs with qnap app
yes correct - sorry if it was not clear enough
i use wake on lan if im not at home i.e and i connect to my fritzbox/nas with myfritz.net feature and load the qnap webpage and go the normal way through the webinterface.
it would be much easier if its possible with the app
- send a wol packet
- open qnap app, maybe 1 or 2 clicks, select disc, enter password, finish

Re: Decrypt encrypted discs with qnap app
I fully agree that this is an important feature. If you are promoting the use of your NAS as a cloud service, it only makes sense to ensure that users can access their data. (Securely of course). So long as you use a good SSL package, and provide ongoing support for it, I don't see any additional risk in doing this.

Re: Decrypt encrypted discs with qnap app
I agree with the proposal. It is not reasonable to have two apps (qmanager, qfile) and none of them have the possibility to decrypt an encrypted directory.
It can't be a big deal to integrate this feature into both qfile and qmanager. But it is certainly a great benefit for the users.
