Re: Qsync for Linux
i know this is rubbing salt in the wound, but Synology DOES have a drive sync client for their NAS:

i wonder if my next NAS will be a Synology. Would be a shame.

Re: Qsync for Linux
Strictly speaken, this is Linux:ghardy2k@yahoo.com wrote:linux is more than .7% marketshare. it is approximately 2.7 percent and growing.
https://www.kernel.org
If you have an android device, you are using Linux.
Growing or not, the majority part of people worldwide is using Windows.
Mainly because that OS is pre-installed on most pc's.
Believe it or not, but when you buy a new PC, you paying for windows too.
So therefore i do not think that qnap will ever realese a Linux application for a 'handfull' of people.

It's worse: It has no future in the desktop market.CylonCenturion wrote:If wel al keep believing that makes that Linux will never grow on the desktop market.
Oh yes ... lots of conspiracy theories and lies in the OS wars.CylonCenturion wrote:I have absolutly no affection or whatssoever with that unstable, spying OS called Windows.
I said 0.?% ...ghardy2k@yahoo.com wrote:linux is moer than .7% marketshare. it is approximately 2.7 percent and growing.
Desktop/Laptop operating system browsing statistic for shows some 1.44% GNU/Linux based kernels on StatCounter (October 2016) decreasing.
When including Android and iOS, GNU/Linux systems are on 0.82% decreasing based on StatCounters (October 2016), too. Granted - no Qsync for Android (@34%) or iOS (@12%) yet.ghardy2k@yahoo.com wrote:If you have an android device, you are using Linux.

Re: Qsync for Linux
So if QNAP does not bother about Linux, I need to consider alternative platforms. I think Synology doe support Linux, isn't it?

Re: Qsync for Linux
Is this happening? Does anyone know?
For the person above talking about desktops, that is not even close to the point.
How many Linux servers could use Qsync as a backup tool? Probably a lot. (yes, you can crontab rsync and all that, but a qsync client would be really helpful).
