'Check File System' menu greyed out on a TVS-471?

Post by Mr Davo »

Hi All,

One of my TVS-471 NAS Boxes is reporting '[Volume DataVol1, Pool 1] The file system is not clean. It is suggested that you go to [Storage Manager] to run "Check File System".'.

I have managed to navigate to the 'Check File System' menu item by clicking on Storage Manager (1) > Storage Space (2) > Manage (3) > Actions (4) > Check File System (5) - as shown in the attached!

However I am unable to click on 'Check File System' due to it being greyed out.

I have rebooted the NAS multiple times with no benefit.

Any help with this issue will be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Davo

Could it be that your file system is just too full?

Maybe purge some deleted files from the recycle bin and/or move some file off temporarily.

You'll have to address the issue of a full file system sooner, or later......

There is no such thing as a full file system from keeping a file system check from working.

Hi All,

Our Volume is 'thick' so therefore looks full; but it does in fact have plenty of free space.

I have noticed that a scan for bad blocks is actually already running on one of the hard drives on the NAS.

It seems logical that this would be the reason why the 'Check File System' scan is not available.

I will check again tomorrow when the bad block scan is finished.

Kind Regards,

Davo
