Hi, I recently bought two 8TB hard disks in order to make a RAID 1 storage. I don't have a NAS right now, but I plan to buy one in the next 2 or 3 months. I wanted to connect the disks to my desktop computer (windows based) which can handle them as a RAID 1 and start puting there all my stuff. I recently noticed that if I do that with windows, I would get the disks formatted with NTFS.
I need to know if there will be a way to convert these disks to ext4 in order to use them with my NAS, or if will have to format them again. In this case I will have to keep the disks untouched until the moment when I buy the qnap nas.
Thank you in advance

Even if you could convert NTFS to ext4, QNAP would reformat any drives installed internally

correct as the nas puts 3 to 4 partitions on it for OS usage as well
so even less possible
