TS-669L 4 Drive RAID-10 - how to add spare

Hi,
So as the subject states, I have a TS-669L 4 Drive RAID-10. There is a unused (free) spare. Is it a good idea to add it as a hot spare and if so, how to go about it?

no need for a spare..just keep an eye on the NAS and swap a drive if a problem occures (cold spare)

keeping a hot spare in will just keep it spinning and age it for no reason
