Check File System stuck for days?

Post by uncredited »

I've got a TS-877 running 6x 10 TB HDDs in RAID 5 with an encrypted volume.
After some poor decisions made by me after an update went fubar I now have issues with my storage volume.
Storage & Snapshots app says I have only used 400GB when in reality I know last time I checked I had used around 10 TB.
The system has prompted me to run "Check File System" once I'd unlocked my volume, which I did.
It has now been stuck @ 7.3% for a little over 2 days. Is this normal?
Should I just let it continue for however long it takes or should I assume it has encountered a problem?
I should also mention that I can list the top level of most directories but if I try to run the ls command inside a sub-directory the NAS seems to become unresponsive.
Does anyone here know what to do in this situation? Any advice is highly appreciated!
