Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
I think I am past this step since all the disks have been replaced (I pulled each one individually and replaced it and let the system rebuild)
The disks in this screen shot are all the new 4Tb ones (replacing 2Tb)You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
I think I am past this
The disks in this are already the upgraded ones that I pulled individually and replaced one by one allowing the raid to rebuild in between as I said here
So the drives now in use are the larger 4Tb drives (up from 2Tb)obiwanKenobi wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:03 am Just to confirm I am going to pull Disk 1 and replace with a new hard drive
Once I do that the QNAP settings panel will offer me an option to replace the missing drive with the new one and expand the pool

No, you are still not past this step, you need to hit expand capacity (as said multiple times now)

Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
I thought that was what I had done
When I hid Expand Pool I get a screen offering options none of which have any available disks to allocate to expand

Storage Pool: Manage
Manage: Replace Disks One By One
Expand Capacity is Greyed out
All the disks in the unit are the new 4Tb disks

Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
Yes - that was taken prior to me pulling the disks 1 by 1 and replacing and allowing the raid to rebuild in between
Is there anything I need to do to increase my volume size or is that automatically taken care of

Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
I know this may be obvious to you but it is not to me
At this screen
What do I enter
My intuition says 11.24 Tb?
If I select 'Select pool capacity it fills in 11330 Gb which seems like that is my max (which is what I want)
Thanks

Re: Upgrade Disks in a Thin Volume TVS-472XT
Up to you what you enter, do you want to use the whole pool?, you want to leave some space for snapshots or ISCSI LUNs ? (watch the pool threshold otherwise the next question will be what the pool threshold warning is about)
