Power cut while synchronizing

Post by lavaga »

My Raid 6 volume was in the middle of synchronizing when I had a power cut. I got a notification to run 'Check File System' but I guess i can't until its finished synchronizing (the button is greyed out).

Should I be worried?

synchronizing started again from 0% .. is there a chance it will synchronize the 'non-clean' filesystem and accept it as ok?

Wait for the sync to complete then run the file system check. Also, invest in a UPS.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
