Switching HHD slots

Post by vitaljik »

Should I? And if yes then how to do that?

I have 453mini with 2x3tb disks in slots 1 and 2. Now I added 1 SSD in slot 4 for caching.

Now checking the specs for 453mini it says: Compatible with 4 x SATA 6Gb/s, 3Gb/s 3.5" & 2.5" HDDs & SSDs (with high-speed interface for HDD slot 1 & 2)

So my SSD is not on a high speed interface, is it worth getting it there and if yes, how?

you can swap the disks around cold (while NAS is off)

for write cache always use at least two SSD..not just one
