after replace system board will old RAID5 still works?
Hi,
I have QNAP TVS-672XT with RAID 5 setup. getting system board replace, my question is after system board replaced will I loss my data, or will I get my data back? I have 4 drives labels 1 to 4 do I just setup RAID 5 before I put my drives back.

should be back....have external backups from then on ...a raid is not a backup

thanks dolbyman I just don't want my data to be loss and will have setup backup once I have my device back from repair

Hi, I have my replacement NAS back TVS-672XT from repair, question is do I just put my 4 drives back in order 1 to 4 in the bays and power on the NAS and it will re-build RAID 5 back and I won't lost any data correct. or I need to do any setup first Please Help.

Do a diskless firmware update to latest(use qfinder)..then stick your disks in and start it up

so without drives power on and do firmware updates first, after done power off and add drives back and then power on correct, sorry this is first time I am doing this and thanks for your help

no power needs to be on for the firmware update.(just for the dom image). but none of your drives in
then power off put your drives in and power on

thats not how a backup works. a backup is done PRIOR to something like this OR ANYThing for that matter happening. So then if whatever doesn't work out, no problem you can recover from the backup. i'm glad it worked out for you, but moving forward keep a backup. don't wait till you lose your data before you learn your lesson like i did before i knew better (this was like 10+ years ago lelz)
