Hi,
I would like to reformat my disks and create a storage pool to enable snapshots, to limit damage in case of ransomware.
With the disk in static it is possible, in case of hardware problems to the nas, to connect a hard disk to a PC with linux and mount the raid with mdadm to access the data.
If I create a thick disk storage pool to use and snapshot, is it possible to do the same thing? How do you access the data if you need to access the disk directly?

Check the forum search..reading disks is not trivial anymore LVM is involved...hence full external backups are strongly advised
Btw..if your NAS gets ransomware ..many times all snapshots are purged anyways
