NAS not going to sleep overnight when set on power schedule

Post by Jaspos »

Hi there

I have my NAS set to go to sleep overnight. This use to work fine until recently, where I had noticed this had stopped happening. I updated the firmware, and "reset" the power schedule, and it worked fine for 3 nights, but now has stopped again (and hasn't auto-slept [is that a word 😂]) for a week).

There is a help page here:
https://www.qnap.com/en-us/how-to/faq/a ... andby-mode

But honestly, I am not sure how to diagnose much of this this(!). But also, given it was working recently, and then stopped, without me having made any changes, I am not sure this will help.

There is nothing on the event log that seems the shed any light. BUT FYI is it NOT going to sleep and then being woken, it seems it simply isn't going in to sleep mode at all.

Also note, I did recently make some changes to setting as advised by the Security Conselor app. Perhaps any of these changes could have been responsible for the initial stopping of the sleep mode - but as it worked again after a firmware update this seems unlikely.

Any advice gratefully received!

Sorry, thought that info was on my signature - turns out I don't have one 🤦‍♂️

It's
Model:- TS-253A
Firmware: 5.0.0.1986
(the latest available)

Let me know if you can help trying to hunt down what the issue may be, thanks!
