Want to add a 3rd 4TB drivecto 451.

Hi,

I have 2 x 4TB drives and am getting the message it is now 80% full.

I have a new 4TB ready, how do I go about adding it.

Just put it in ?

Depends on how the drives are setup

RAID1,0?
Spanning JBOD
Pooled single drives

This is what it shows..

Coulda posted some screenshots

But it sounds like a RAID1 (due to the effective space)...If RAID1 then just follow the steps in the manual to convert the RAID1 to RAID5

If you right click>manage on the volume..it should show you if and what raid

here it says it's only a single drive with no RAID,I wonder how the other drive is setup then

Just noticed the overview .. yes, the one disks is purple (meaning free) .. it was never used .. yes

So migration should be

Single(current)>RAID1(2 disks)>RAID5(3 disks)

I know the simplicity of this must be driving you batty, however an old 82 year old head like mine, doesn't retain too much info
