QNAP migration failed

Post by asp27 »

Hello,

I have the following problem:

I wanted to migrate my Qnap TS-653A with a Raid 5 array to a used Qnap TVS1282. Unfortunately, I had not previously checked whether the TVS-1282 was fully reset. No discs were installed in the TVS-1282. I booted the system and another RAID was initialized. Then I put my plates back into the TS-653A. Unfortunately, the wrong RAID is now also recognized there.

Both Qnaps have the latest firmware 5.0.0.1986.

Do I have a chance to get my old RAID 5? Thanks for Help.

without any disks left in the new NAS, migration should have started (OS is on the disks)

I guess you do not have the (pretty much) mandatory external backups ?

That's the problem. No hard drives were installed in the TVS-1282. I built and booted my disks from the TS-653A into the TVS-1282. The migration has not started. Unfortunately I don't have a current backup

Very hard to diagnose from afar.

Best to open a ticket with QNAP and have them remote to your computer or NAS, to see what is going on.
