Load constant tone while booting, stuck at loading kernel

Hi Everyone,

I've got a TS-453 Pro as a local backup solution for a server. Yesterday it hung and after hard restart, about 2 mins in, a loud tone warning sounds(endlessly), and it sits at system booting endlessly. Plugged in monitor and was stuck at loading kernel, or the generic loading splash screen when retried with monitor connected. Removed drives and it does boot to the insert drive screen. Put them back in, still loud tone alarm and hung. All the drive lights are red. Any ideas? Never heard the warning tone before, and cant seem to find any info on it.

Can you reach the device via SSH during the error ?

No unfortunately, just system booting and no ssh access.

Thank you very much for that, Im reading up on it now. Is there a way to backup the data before heading to that step?

no, backups need to be done before stuff hit's the fan .. a good lesson to learn for the future
