I can't seem to delete or rename...

Post by itsPronouncdFee »

I have a directory that I can't seem to rename containing files that are 0kb that I cannot delete (at least via web ui).
It's a plugin config directory for Emby.

I figured I could just rename the folder config-back and Emby would just make a fresh directory and throw in default config files and fix my RW issues but I get this when I try to rename:

The files in the directory are zero:

and deleting the directory or files yields fails:

I assume using command line with true admin could fix this? How would I go about doing that?

May be using file station when logged in as true admin will fix it too.
Is that a share? Shares can only be deleted from Control Panel - Privilege -Shared folders, but not from file station.

I've never used file station and run multiple nas units for 6 + years.

Do you have share access? Just rename in explorer or whatever you use?

Worst case, login via SSH and the true admin user account, the 'mv' command, or really the 'rm' command, should be able do it.

firstly how are you login into qts?

usually the default admin account would have such restrctions. i can only suspect you are login into a non admin account with limitations imposed on privileges, which could explain why prevented this action.

thats my guess
