Network w/ Failover LAG

Post by bekax5 »

Hi everyone

I am trying to configure the network of a TS-832PXU unit.
It has 2x SFP+ and 2x 2.5Gbps.

What I would like to achieve is redundancy over the two with LAG, meaning I'd like to connect 2x SFP+ LAG1 into Switch1, 2x 2.5Gbps LAG2 into Switch2, both on the same subnet. If LAG1 fails (priority), LAG2 enters.
The unit has been configured in Windows Server DNS and DHCP, has 1 IP associated with NIC1 MAC (eth0 2.5Gbps) 192.168.10.10.

I am able to achieve redundancy over LAG2 only, but I can't ever achieve connection to any SFP+ interface from LAG1.
I tried both LAG between all 4 interfaces, and two sepparate LAG between interface pairs but it didn't work. All LAGs were added to a virtual switch, that appears to get the MAC of the lowest eth interface (2.5Gbps).

What is the right way to configure this?
And how can all interfaces have the same IP ?

I just noticed, if I add two LAG into a virtual switch, I get a STP storm
Even if I have RSTP enabled on that virtual switch!

Appears to be the wrong way to do this... or the virtual switch is not working the right way
