Replace failed SSD in RAID 1 configuration
Hey guys/gals,
Could anyone please provide or direct me to instructions on how to replace a failed RAID1 SSD (system is on it and Data is RAID 5 on HDDs). I"m really hoping it's as simple as replacing the failed SSD and flipping it back on (without having to rebuild). Configuration screenshots attached.
Thanks for reading and for any help!

Yes.. shut the NAS down (no hotswap with NVMe) and swap the drive...boot it back up and the rebuild should start
The system is on all internal drives anyways .. just you programs would be installed on the default system volume

Re: Replace failed SSD in RAID 1 configuration
So i popped in the new m.2 SSD. It shows healthy, but still degraded. I manually go into Rebuild RAID Group. Hit the Rebuild button, but it doesn't show any free disks. Thoughts?

Hi dolbyman - I really appreciate the help. In the last screenshot I try to rebuild the RAID, but it doesn't show a disk to select. Please see below.

Re: Replace failed SSD in RAID 1 configuration
Hi dolbyman - Turns out that my SSD in slot 1 ALSO had bad sectors. That's what prevented the rebuild from working. I replaced both m.2 SSDs with Crucial (I learned about the Samsung SSD issues on the other thread).
Everything is back up!
Thanks again

Re: Replace failed SSD in RAID 1 configuration
I'd still say that is a bug, if the other SSD had busted sectors that prevented the rebuild, the interface should not say "green' all A/OK
