NAS to NAS or VJBOD

Post by rolldog »

I currently have a TVS-872XT running QuTS Hero, and I have an older TS-451+ that I have connected directly via ethernet that I use to sync the TVSS to the TS. Is this the most efficient way to hook these 2 NAS together or should I setup the TS-451+ using VJBOD? I'm kind of spoiled by my Thunderbolt and 10GB connection with the TVS-872XT so is it even possible to install a 10GB network card in the TS-451+ or am I stuck using a 1GB connection? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think the fastest you can do for connectivity of the 451+ is the UC5G1T

But what is the Plan here, replication TO the 451+ or to use the 451+ as additional storage ?

Replication, but before I upgraded my TVS-883 to a TVS-872XT, my NAS crashed, and I lost tons of data. I've found most of that data on the TS-451+, but moving it from the TS-451+ takes FOREVER!

Unfortunately, this adapter isn't compatible with the TS-451+

The TS-451+ has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port, supports QTS 5.0.1 and is not an excluded device, why would you say it's not compatible?
