Hi all. I have an issue with my TVS-872XT, and I was wondering if anyone has an idea what the issue might be. (Using latest QTS 5)
My 872 has been running happily for ~2 years. Recently, I had an issue where I could not open certain apps on the NAS. Virtualisation Station and Plex (among others - many apps) would not open....I reinstalled them, restarted the NAS etc.... sometimes they would work for a few minutes and then crash. First I thought, one of my SSDs must have an issue. I have a 2TB nvme for the system and 3x2TB SATA SSD in RAID 5 for VMs etc..
I did all the available tests on my SSDs: full SMART, Bad blocks, check file system etc... all was fine.
I reset the NAS back to default and reinstalled everything. I formatted the 2TB nvme, but I kept the filesystem on the SATA SSD. I was able to recreate the VMs in virtualisation station. This worked for about a week or two, now I have the same issue again.
Any ideas? Could the nvme SSD be bad despite passing all the tests? Could there be another HW issue in the NAS?

Best option is may be a ticket at support.
Is your NAS accessible from internet in any way? Some users use Plex to watch movies when on the road...?

Re: TVS-872XT Apps not working
Thanks for the response. My NAS is definitely not accessible from the Internet (no QNAP cloud, no upnp, no port forwarding etc..).
I have never had much luck with QNAP support, but yeah I might give that a go.
