Missing 10TB after replacing Drives

Post by Sixfoot5ins »

Hi all,
I hope you can help

I've replaced 4 x 4TB drives in a RAID 5 Think volume with 6 x 10TB drives.
Ive replaced them one by one
I've added the 2 x 10TB drives to the RAID group and expanded, the RAID group see's all 6 x 10TB drive (each with 9.10TB of usable space)

The original used space before anything has changed is 10TB

I was expecting to see around 54TB maximum volume size reduced to 44TB of free space

I'm seeing 34TB of free space

Am I missing something or am I missing 10TB from somewhere?

Seems all correct. A raid5 pool with 6 disks (each 9.1TB) and a 45TB volume (=5x9).
In a raid5 one disk is for parity.
