Hi to all,
i have got a Qnap ts 109 pro 2 and i think to buy , shortly, a ts 119. But this is another story...
I'm intersting to know how it works the Q-RAID function using an usb or an e-sata disk connected to my nas.
Is it a true raid 1 system ? or is it a scheduled copy of data between the two hard disks in a short time?
It's very important for me to know this.
What happens if i keep connected the second disk needed for Q-raid ( via usb or esata ) even after the first sync of raid ? it keeps to stay in sync even if i write new data on the nas disk ?
My question is: TRUE RAID or DELAYED SYNC ?

hi
no it's not a true raid, it's using rsync. iirc it's constantly scanning/replicating the hdd so it always stays in snc (which will eat up some performance of course).

Re: Q-Raid 1 Specs Tech
if i use q-raid to replicate my disk, is it possible , after, to insert this cloned disk into a new nas ?
( i'm planning to switch from my ts-109 pro 2 to ts-119 )
