Snap shot status "Unmounted"

Post by kactus »

The last few days all the snapshots that are generated can not be accessed, their status is "Unmounted"

Older snapshots that still say ready can be accessed. This is happening on two different TS-EC2480U units. It first started on an older firmware and I attempted to restart and upgraded to 4.3.3.0154 and the problem has persisted.

We are running snapshots every 3 hours, keeping for 1 month with apparently 247 snapshots available. The storage pool is reserving 20% for snapshots of of that only 3.8% is in use and more than 22% of the drive unallocated.

Smart snapshot is enabled, and logs state that Scheduled snapshots are created successfully.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Kam

Useful answers.

Some serious errors in Qnap's error checking and software development approach.
How are they not finding these things in testing?
Do they actually have test plans?
Someone in Qnap wrote the error state "Unmounted" but then someone else failed to document it.

Thanks tdstds!

I've passed on this info to the IT guys hopefully they get some traction too, we've had a ticket with qnap for a while as well.

Cheers
