New setup on old NAS fails

Post by Fasmer »

HD fail on Qnap TS 419P+

I decided to insert 4 new disks in raid 5.
One disk continues the setup from the old disks. See screendump (attachments).

The old raid 5 can not be erased / activated.
Would like all 4 discs to be collected in a raid 5 disc.

First I would start with upgrading to the most current QTS version 4.3.3, since you are running a VERY old and potentially insecure version.

Are these truly "NEW" drives are just new to this NAS? If from a different NAS, then I would wipe them in another computer so that they appear as uninitialized to QNAP.
