Wipe everything and set it up like you just took it out of the box.
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Thanks Don. Fortunately I do have back-ups, but then if my NAS fails ... backups are now no longer back-ups per see.

I have emailed support at QNAP and wait for their reply. :-)

I'm having this exact same issue with an 8TB drive.

Removed the drive, formatted it, scanned it using WD's tool and using Windows chkdisk /r /f, CrystalDiskInfo also reports the disk as good, but put it into the QNAP and it reports it as abnormal and I can't do anything with the disk?

What gives, is this a bug, issue or something else with the FW.
