I'm having this problem here with my new TS-235Be. I just bought it and seted it up for the first time rigth on oct/05, when 4.4.1.1081 was released. During set up process, system prompted me to upgrade and I agreed. Got several reboots in short amount of time.
I though that was a hard drive problem because one of my drives was alerting a SMART problem, sugesting to replace it.
Searching other users posts, I found an user who sugested downgrade... so I did it and got no more reboots....
Now I have sent logs to QNAP help desk and hoping that they find a solution soon to discart a defective unit.
Jus got response from helpdesk that its a hardware issue... they didn't provide any other detail about the issue... just "its a hardware problem".
I bought this TS-253Be on US amazon and brought to Brazil, where a live so I can't return it.

if they are saying it's a hardware problem, then doesn't sound like they think it's the qts 4.4.1 random reboot issue :S not sure.

but i'm not really sure what steps you can take..... what did they say?

mine is an expensive paperweight - I shall not be buying another QNAP and once my other QNAP's (8) have given up the ghost I'm off - their RMA process is to quote for basically what is a new unit and I don't think this is right. I can build a NAS server myself and at least I replace component by component should it fail

I have a TVS-672XT with 32GB (2 x Kingston HyperX 16GB modules) and now with firmware version 4.4.1.1086. 2-3 weeks ago, suddenly the problem with the reboots started. Once the NAS rebooted, it booted up again and crashed again after a few minutes and repeated all the time. I got crazy.
My first thought was, the RAM is not ok, so I bought new RAM from a seller, who offer RAM especially for the TVS-672XT. I replaced the RAM, but now after 7 days the NAS starts crashing again.
I also reseted the NAS two times, but this didn't help.

I also opened a ticket at QNAP. Hope to get a response from them.

I tried everything I could think of and have ended selling my unit for spares or repair as the RMA cost was as much as a new unit as it was out of warranty :(
