Cannot expand newly upgraded 6TB drives

Post by mjadamo »

QNAP TS-231+ 2 bays Firmware 4.4.1.1031

I am trying to expand my new 6TB drives
Replaced smaller 4 TB drives with 2 ST6000VN0033-2EE110 6TB drives
Shows disk capacity 5.46 TB (6 TB) I want to expand the capacity on the drives because it still shows the old drive capacity of 3.59TB ($TB drives)

I Click on ..
Storage > Storage/Snapshots>DataVol1 (System) >DataVol1 Management > Expand> The Expand DatVol Wizard comes up asking to (1) Create and add a new Raid group or (2) Add new disks to an existing RAID group..

What am I doing wrong? Thank you beforehand

I'm assuming that you are using RAID1. Did you follow the "replace discs one-by-one" expansion procedure?
