Increase capacity with fewer drives

I've spent some time looking to see if this is possible but come up empty handed so far.

I have a TS-453Be with 4 x 3TB drives that I would like to upgrade to 3 x 8TB drives and want to know if this is possible. I'd like to defer the purchase of the 4th 8TB drive to a later time..

only with a complete rebuild of the storage, otherwise , no ..not possible
