Question about Thin Volume

Post by zukers »

Hi,
Let's say my storage pool have 14TB, now I create Thin Volume with size 8TB. In this situation do I need to monitor my volume so that it does not exceed my storage pool size, or 8TB in this situation is max data that I can write, and nothing more?
I'm tying decide if there any differences between Thick volume, and Thin volume with volume size lower than storage pool?

Thanks.

If you have no other uses on the empty pool space (snapshots, other volumes etc) then 8TB is within the 14TB pool space. Not over provisioned at all.
