Smart Fan almost killed my disks.

Hi All.
Recently I paid attention that the Fan system works terrible, in "Self-defined temperature" mode with below 39C for low speed and 45C for higher speed it worked randomly ..... When the whole system is cold ~35-37C it do noise with fan , and when the system arrives to 42C is stays on low speed.
SO , I switched it to fully auto mode " Monitor the temperature of the system , disks and CPU and adjust the fan speed accordingly and automatically" - sounds great ....
BUT Today and yesterday I got several messages , that the disks crossed 42C to 43C. I thought , that 43C is not so high , but when I opened the NAS's GUI I found : system on 50C and both disks on 48C and the fan sounds on lowest speed.....
I changed it again to semi automatically and the temperature fall to 35C..
How can I check to which maximal temperature the disks have warmed up.
These new disks with only 5 days power on.... WD-RED pro 6T.
NAS TS-431
Thank you in advance.
