Degraded while reaplcement

im totally new in Qnap management; my brother was taking care of me before

I was trying to follow the instruction here https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/tutorial ... ty-upgrade

however when I insert the new drive its starts stating Degraded not rebuild
what should I do?

you swapped the drive to increase capacity? because it was defective?

did you swap the drive hot?

im not familiar of what you state here sorry but I tried to follow the page instruction and I fail and now I'm stuck don't know what to do

what exaclty did you try to do? (swapping a drive with what goal?)

did you shut the nas down to swap the drive(bad) or did you swap the drive while it was running(good)

i have even insert another 12 TB drive in Disk1 to try rebuild still not working!

that extra drive was added as spare

best to open a ticket with qnap ..something went wrong

no its not spare and even i make it free and still not working
I have ticket since morning with no luck and I even had teamview session
I'm sorry I'm not trying to repeat but as I said I'm new in this issue so sometime I don't know what your asking I'm so sorry if you felt I'm trying to repeat

one thing i have noticed when i added extra drive its free and when I select rebuild on it its just give nothing and change it from free to be spare!
is that normal?
because nothing working

I already asked several times if you swapped the drive while the nas was on or off ..not a technical question ..very easy to answer

so you already have a ticket open and qnap connected via TeamViewer...what was done there ?
