QNAP->QNAP Migration Issues

Post by scebertrue »

I opened a ticket but while I wait I thought I'd ask for ideas from the group.

I am upgrading from a
TS-869Pro: 4.3.4.1652 QTS (2gb ram)
to an
TVS-872xt: 4.5.3.1652 QTS (32gb ram)

They are listed as compatible for migration based on the check found here:

https://www.qnap.com/en/nas-migration/? ... =tvs-872xt

Both are 8 bays.
Drives 1-5; all same 2TB; Static Volume; RAID 5;
Drives 6-8; all same 8TB; Static Volume; RAID 5:

Swapped drives 1 at a time (bay 1 -> bay 1) etc. to avoid messing up the order of the drives.

Followed the "migration instructions" found here:

https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... he-old-one

Once I boot the new NAS with the drives installed, it sees the disks but NOT the Volumes. Any ideas why this might be the case and possible resolution? I'd rather not have to recreate and download from backup the current files as this is a home office based NAS and the backup is remote (download). Even on a FTTH setup, still going to be really slow.

Thanks in advance for your replies!
