Unfortunately I have no compatible sytem - only notebooks. And therefore I even have no alternative RAM.
I thought, I had upgraded the system with RAM - but maybe that was the predecessor-NAS... So I removed the original RAM.
But no status LED and no beep with or without RAM?
No more reaction and all LEDs red

Re: No more reaction and all LEDs red
I now found out, that I have changed the factory RAM with 2x 4GB, but didn't keep the original modules... Grmpf!
Is it possible to use the NAS with only one Module (in which bank?)? Then I would have a chance that only one of the modules is defect an I can find the error without buying two new modules.

Re: No more reaction and all LEDs red
It lives!!!
All tries with combinations of the RAM modules failed. But after installing the resistor AND trying again with only one RAM module there was a beep again... Strange: after that I installed both RAM modules again and it worked, too. Scary!
But now the next problem: the NAS must be initialised again to factory settings. After that I wanted to use my backup of the settings. But that doesn't work because obviously I had another firmware version when I created the backup. And now the NAS declines to use it... How can I manage this when I don't know the firmware version of the backup?

Re: No more reaction and all LEDs red
Best time for creating an external backup, if not already available .
