QNAP offline except one port 3943 NUT = it was only DORMANT/on standby

Post by itteam »

Ports are closed or services are down.
How do I tell the difference ?
TS-873U-RP with SSH, web server, SMB all unreachable from multiple devices

The 2 IP addresses respond to pings and shows in ARP.
A port scan shows only port 3943
"999 closed ports" ... so probably not the services down ?

No physical access at the moment to eyeball LEDs.
Would QFinder help ?
What process should I take to regain access and minimize any log loss so we can perhaps figure out what happened ?

UPDATE - in case it helps someone else ! :
Turns out there was a 10-15 minute power interruption last night.
When someone could physically look at it, we saw:
- power ON solid
- status NOT lit (drives are in standby)
- ethernet blinking orange (connected to network but not being accessed)

- drives lit solid green (can be accessed but are not being accessed/no activity)

Pressed power button just long enough to turn off (1 second), waited 15 seconds, turned it back on, all came back online without issue.
- status LED went solid green (ready), ethernet went solid orange (being accessed), and drives started flickering with activity

I was disappointed that /var/log were all new data - only recorded it powering back on, but at least the GUI confirmed the power outage.

Any suggestions as to what we have misconfigured such that it's not recovering from autoprotect mode ?

I have never used that mode, but there has been confusion about it before
