BAD block SCAN - when running it?

Post by abpitt »

hi boys, i'm new of this community.
i've received the message "Message: [Hardware Status] "Host: Disk 5": Medium error. Run a bad block scan on the drive. Replace the drive if the error persists".
can I run the process whith my VM started or it is necessary stopped them?
thanks for help.

No problem to run it "live". Just did on a drive in my array and was using the data on this array.
Maybe it's going to be slower depending how much you use it.
To give an idea, it took about 24h for a 16Tb drive.
