I'm a n00b.
My TS-451 died (doesn't even boot up) so I got the 431K. I tried simply setting up with the old HDDs, which seemed mostly fine, but the main RAID1 drives are unmounted, but I'm pretty sure all the data is intact. The 3rd drive is a simple drive and I can access everything fine.
Researched a while and can't find to a way to get the 431K to mount the old RAID1 HDDs from my 451. Check file system won't run to completion.
Let me know if this makes sense. take out drives, reset system, start-up as fresh from factory, when on insert drives and do a factory reset with the RAID1 drives (maintains data but overwrites the system config?), then I can access the storage pools? I don't want to F it up as there is a folder of pics of kids I need to retrieve. I tried some EXT reading software and they can't access the folders I want.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks. So there's no way to get the data off one of the drives?

you always need external backups..you probably can fix your 451 with the LPC resistor trick...check the forum search

I do have a back-up, but it's one of those things where, it's missing a few things that I didn't realize.
Yes I found that resistor solution. I'm not very capable of things like that, plus I don't have the soldering stuff and resistor.
I'm trying R-linux now. Other software didn't work.

Re: Help. Migrate to 431K
Return the 431k and exchange it with a migration compatible unit

LOL. Yes thought about that too!
R-Linux for windows worked. Took a while to scan but got what I needed from the drives.
