Hi,
So my TVS-871T died recently (not booting, even without disks) and I'm looking for options.
To my NAS was plugged an 8-bays JBOD extension (TX-800P), and the raid were across these two unit.
My best luck to get my data is to buy a new, compatible Qnap NAS, insert my disks back, and hope for the raid to mount. TVS-871T is EOL now, and TVS872T extension has not been released yet. So I was planning to get a 16 bay Qnap NAS.
According to this page, I can migrate disk from my 8-bay to a new 16-bay array, but what happen if I put the remaining disks from the extension into the last 8 slots of the new NAS? Would I be able to mount the volumes?
What do you think? Will it work?
Thanks for reading.

I would check with qnap....dont think many people have any migration experience, spanning enclosures
It probably a lot of data..but be sure to have backups next time

Hi @dolbyman,
Thanks for your answer, I'll check with qnap and report the answer here.
We have tape backups for our main SAN storage (~300To), but we decided to take the risk with this NAS (~64To) because we couldn't afford another tape library.
Loosing these datas is not such a major issue though, it would just be nice if we can get them back.
Best regards
