Disk Cache question

Post by CyanideX »

Hi,

I need to replace my 6TB WD drive in my 8 bay QNAP, the cache is 64MB but I only now can see available the same spec but with 256mb Cache. Would his cause any issues in my RAID6? I don't think it will as the RPM is the same but thought I would ask before I buy.

many thanks!

those are bad for raid and will lead to problems (slow down to a crawl and could even get ejected)

replace them asap (talk to your vendor or WD regarding deceptive sales) I think there is several class action lawsuits in the making

had them in for 3 years in my 8 bay without issues? I have ordered the CMR anyway, I only use the RAID6 for Plex server these days anyway.
