High Disk Activity when casting Twitch

Post by thedeerchaser »

Hello,
I just happen to hear disk activity in my TS-453be when i was casting twitch to a Nest hub display from my cell phone. This casting should be completely independent of my NAS setup. Went into disk activity and turned off and turn back on the twitch stream and was able to verify that it is related to twitch casting (see attached). It does not have high activity when not casting twitch, that is, playing it directly on the phone. I have also tried casting spotify, youtube and youtube tv and none of these cause disk activity. Any ideas on whats causing this?

can you show actual throughput instead of iops?

if nothing on the nas is involved, there should be nothing

Throughput increases to ~930KB/s when twitch is casting.

so not sure what is happening ..but basically negligible

you could open a ticket for qnap to take a look at your computer/nas config to see if any smarthome stuff is touching your nas there
