Notification Center - Unable to Send

Post by Don »

NAS: TVS-882BR
FW: 4.5.2.1566

NAS: TVS-663
FW: 4.5.4.1741

The NAS devices are unable to send messages from Notification Center(NC). I have had this problem for long time now and with prior versions of the FW. I opened a ticked many, many moths ago with support and they said that the issue is because I run dnsmasq on the NAS (both run it). The strange thing is that I can send a test email from the NC and if I click resend on a message in the NC it gets sent with no issues. Anyone have any idea why NC cannot send the message the first time? Everything else on the NAS runs fine and has no problem accessing the LAN/WAN. All devices on the network are able to use dnsmasq with no issues.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

No, OPNsense with Unbound DNS.

It worked just fine, until I updated to 1787.

Got to do some tests, as noted somewhere else here on the forum a reboot of the NAS and router solved the connectivity issue and the notification center was able to send again.
