Disks upgraded - can't expand RAID5 and data volume

Post by CosminMija »

OK, so...
I have a TS-451 with QTS 4.5.4 and RIAD5 with 4 disks.
As one of my initial 4TB HDDs died, I have decided to replace all with 8TB disks.
I have replaced first the dead one and, after that, all the others, 1-by-1.
All went well - at least until the moment I wanted to expand my data volume from 3x4 to 3x8 TB.
When I try to expand the volume it asks me to either create a new RAID group or to add disks to the existing RAID (see the screenshot) - none of these options are possible.
It seems to me that, first, I would need to expand the RAID to use the 8TB disks space but I'm not able to find this option.
I checked also this link: https://docs.qnap.com/nas-outdated/4.1/ ... gement.htm but I can't find those RAID options.
What do I miss?

Thank you for the help!

follow this

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=162851#p798320

the linked manual does not fit the firmware or device type (hence you cannot find some of the option)
