Improve Performance
I have a QNAP TS-873U-RP and installed 18TB WD Drives. I am using it to make backups of my servers using disk2VHD but the performance is very slow, it makes maybe 5meg a sec. It was setup as Think Provisioned using RAID 5 but I am trying RAID 1 on 2 disks with STATIC volumes to see if that helps. How can we speed up performance?

Need lots of data:
what specific 18TB WD drives?
how many in the RAID 5 array?
how are you connecting to the device? (WiFi? 1/2.5/10GbE? does everything else in the network support that speed?)
are you including the process of running disk2VHD in this performance or is this just straight copy speed of the resulting file?
what are you copying the file from and what is its disk access speed?
