Hello,
I have some redundant disks that I want to use for a one time backup of pictures that are on a PC.
Can I do the following steps without any penalty for my current configuration and current way of working?
1. turn off NAS and remove current disks
3. place backup disks, power on NAS and create backup of another PC
4. turn off NAS and remove backup disks
5. place current disks, power on NAS and continue working with these disks as if nothing happened
In other words: is all my current configuration data stored on my current disks and can I temporary use other disks without penalty? Or is some configuration data stored on the NAS hardware itself which will result in loss off configuration data when I place other disks?
Thanks in advance,
SJW

Re: Using multiple disks & one NAS device
This will not work as a NAS is not a USB disc. The config is also stored in ROM.
But you could use your free disks as USB storage on the NAS to create a backup.
